Dusty blue green to medium green needles are soft and fragrant. The most popular traditional Christmas tree in the West, it's exported all over the world from the primary Christmas tree production areas of the Pacific NW. To be at it best it needs cool dry summers, well drained soils and very good air circulation that is generally found at 1000' elevation or higher.
