Oregon’s primary timber tree, it can grow to 250′ to 300′ in height. A reasonably fast growing tree, it’s also commonly used in the Christmas tree industry where the specie is usually sheared into shape with knives. Needles are short and medium green. They prefer well drained soils and sunny sites. The cones are small and bullet shaped.
